You will remember that not to be outdone by intrepid colleagues from other departments Maria Stutt from our IT department volunteered to sky dive as a fund raising event for a cause very special to her.
The Anaphylaxis Campaign, http://www.anaphylaxis.org.uk/, is a charity which researches anaphylactic shock. The reason for the fundraising event was that Maria's good friend Domenico Sanna's little sister Francesca died last year after suffering a severe allergic reaction.
Maria, the brave girl, jumped on the 17th of May and commented that "much to the IT manager's dismay I did survive the parachute jump, although it did take several stiff drinks to calm me down afterwards! I would like to thank all of you who have sponsored me, your support has been overwhelming, my office alone has raised £267 in sponsorship and cake munching!"
